awitans dream is reasonable, realistic and achievable. here is why:
eatery in the philippines is a bit of all of the following: a diner in the US, bistrot in france, eethuis in netherlands, imbiss in germany,
it can be fastood, junkfood or home cooked,
it may come with entertainment like sports, cable tv, karaoke singing, live band
the locals love to sing dance and eat. it is not uncommon to see people in a public parc ballroom dancing at 6 am before work,
they all sing, many out of tune :-) ,
they love to eat and they amuse themselves almost without alcohol...
a franchise is out of reach, that would be high end
in a good location. more down to reality the investment can be anything starting for a streetcorner pushcart, - and the sky is the limit.
it depends on buying land or not, building a structure or not etc.
going into the business is easy, staying there is difficult, lots of competition
so here is the plan:
- look for good location, dont buy land, just rent
- built own cheap light and open-air structure. please note here they separate ownership of land and ownership of buildings and structures.
- start small expand as it goes, no loans.
- i saw a 24 h well working concept offering only
- grilled or fried or boiled
- fish or chicken or porc,
- vegetable of the day,
- soup of the day,
- mango or papaya or pineapple,
- soft drinks or beer
- for awitan i suggest opening time 11.00am to 11.00pm sun to thu, 11.00am t0 2.00am fri sat)- add a karaoke so guest may sing themselves, live band evenings thu to sun, may be cable tv with sports channel and sure awitan sings herself at times as well
